John is a Professor at the School of Biomedical Sciences, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). He has continued his service at CUHK for almost 30 years. He has a Ph.D. in Pharmacology (University of Bradford, 1991) and worked on anti-emetic research for over 30 years. He collaborated with 27 pharmaceuticals in drug discovery projects. He introduced >90M research funding to academia. His research team currently has 10 research staff and PhD students.
Julia is a Research Associate at the School of Biomedical Sciences, CUHK. She graduated with a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences (CUHK, 2017), worked on Alzheimer's diseases, and simultaneously worked on a side project to develop an efficient technology to record gut bio-electrical signals from small animals. Up to 2022, she has 16 publications, nine of which are in the bio-electrical research field. She began the path to commercialize the technology in 2020 and became one of the co-founders of Gut Rhythm.
We create unique 'bio-electrical' drug profile for any drugs, food supplements, traditional remedies, probiotics, basically any chemical entities in a week! This drug testing report can be matched with our drug database for predicting potential drug effects and drug adverse effects using artificial intelligence!
An interactive platform to access our Gastrointestinal Pacemaker Activity Drug Database (GIPADD) to perform drug-to-drug comparison on bio-electrical data resources has been launched in Jan 2024. This database contains electrical profile for >190 drugs, based on >12,000 experimental datasets.
Our first-generation artificial intelligence product can predict >20 drug adverse effects with >90% precision, including vomiting, nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, oedema, dermatitis, rash, dizziness, etc.
